Does any of this rely on infrastructure you operate?

Reaching your home server from outside your house (e.g. checking the map while you're out) currently relies on a secure tunnel we operate, so you don't have to open any ports on your own router. We're not pretending otherwise — that piece is ours, not fully self-hosted.

If that tunnel service ever went away, your tracker and its data would keep working fine on your own home network. You'd just lose the ability to check the map from outside your house until the tunnel is replaced with an alternative. Nothing about your stored location history depends on it — that stays on your own device either way.

Who can see my location data?

Only you. Your tracker reports straight to a small home server you own, on your own home network. Your location history lives there — we don't operate a central database of it at all, so there's nothing of ours to leak, get breached, or sell access to. This isn't a hypothetical concern: security researchers have repeatedly found GPS and smartwatch trackers exposing real-time location data through unsecured cloud databases, one documented case exposing the exact coordinates of over 600,000 children and elderly users. Every one of those devices worked by sending location data to someone else's server first. Our home-receiver design means that server doesn't exist for us to secure, or fail to.

What happens if MyTrackers the company shuts down?

Your tracker and home server keep working. They're yours, running on your own hardware, on your own network. The only thing you'd lose is the outside-the-house tunnel link described above, and any future software updates.

What if the tracker loses GPS signal?

It automatically falls back to WiFi and cell-tower positioning — GPS is only one of several ways it locates itself, and it's rarely the only one available. You'll still get position updates, typically with slightly less precision than a clear-sky GPS fix.

What if there's no mobile signal at all?

The tracker simply waits and tries again on its next scheduled check-in. Nothing is lost from before that point — the map just doesn't get a new position until signal returns.

What if my home internet or receiver loses power?

New positions can't reach your home receiver while it's offline, so the map won't update during that window. Nothing about your already-stored location history depends on your home internet being up — that data stays safely on the receiver's own storage either way, and reporting picks back up automatically once power and internet are both back.

Can I check the map from overseas?

Yes — the same outside-the-house tunnel link mentioned above works from anywhere with internet access, not just from within Singapore.

What if the tracker's own battery dies?

The map keeps showing its last known position and the time it was last seen, so you'll notice it's gone quiet rather than getting a wrong location. It resumes reporting normally once recharged.

Can I track more than one child, or let more than one parent check the map?

Yes to both. One home receiver covers your whole household — additional trackers are 220 SGD each with no added fee — and more than one parent can have their own separate login to the same dashboard.
